Our Vision & Values

  • IVA has been established by veterans with the core purpose of ensuring quality support for veterans and families. It is independent of Government, incorporated as a not-for-profit company, and registered as a charity under the ACNC.
  • IVA is a professional association that operates for the benefit of its members, which means that members will have the ultimate control over its management and direction. Annual General Meetings and other forums will be established to enable all members of the Institute to contribute and be heard.
  • IVA will provide a unifying voice to the Government and service agencies such as DVA and CSC on Veteran Advocacy matters.
  • IVA will support the development and delivery of the Advocacy Training and Development Program (ATDP) by providing support to the Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
  • IVA will also provide other training and professional development materials and opportunities to support the advocate community. Member input will inform the development of these materials.
