IVA Open for Applications
01st February 2026
The Institute of Veterans’ Advocacy (IVA) has commenced accepting applications for membership.
This milestone represents a significant step forward in the establishment of IVA as the professional association for veterans’ advocates in Australia.
Over the coming months, IVA will be engaging with its members to shape its resource and benefits offerings to enable IVA to support advocates and promote world’s best practice advocacy for veterans and families.
“It’s an exciting milestone,” Chair, Michael von Berg MC OAM said, “the Board has been working hard to establish the foundations of the IVA and we’re now looking forward to engaging with the membership and building an organisation that supports this incredibly important sector”.
IVA will be a professional association that operates for the benefit of its members, which means that members will have the ultimate control over its management and direction. In time, Annual General Meetings and other forums will be established to enable all members to contribute and be heard.
IVA will also provide a unifying voice to the Government and service agencies (such as DVA and CSC) on veteran advocacy matters and will provide support to the advocate community.
